The Parkmead community in Walnut Creek is a pleasant neighborhood with mostly older ranch style homes, overgrown trees and rolling hills. The vicinity of the community is just one its many great benefit. Parkmead is located walking distance from downtown Walnut Creek, Broadway Plaza, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Kaiser and Las Lomas High School. Also, I-680 and SR-24 onramps are just a minute or two away, which makes for an easier morning commute.
Parkmead is home to two highly rated public schools on Newell Ave, which are adjacent to each other and share the same soccer field: Parkmead Elementary (K-5) and Tice Creek (K-8). Tice Creek (presumably named after the nearby creek that begins in Rossmoor and runs along Tice Valley Blvd to Lancaster Rd, eventually terminating into Las Trampas Creek by Trader Joe’s) was formally known as Dorris-Eaton School.
Many residents are members of the nearby Dewing Park Swim Club and Hillside Covenant church.
